TEA IN THE GARDEN AT ROLLESBY PDF Print E-mail
Tea in the garden at RollesbyAfter a week of endless sunshine, Saturday dawned cloudy and overcast. Thunderstorms were threatened but we soldiered on regardless. We were rewarded with a warm pleasant afternoon with little or no sunshine – quite good for those of us who need to avoid the sun!

Tea in the garden at RollesbyOur host, Haydn Thirtle, had given us the use of his beautiful garden in the village of Rollesby for the day and proved a most excellent host. The gardens were superb, the scones huge and delicious and the committee members worked their socks off keeping up with demand. All in all, a perfect day and, at the end of a day spent in beautiful surroundings, just lazing and chatting with friends, eating delicious scones with jam and cream, we managed to raise £221.63 for our funds.

Thanks to everyone who came to support us, to the committee and volunteer workers who gave unstintingly of their time and energy, to Donna and Fran and Donna’s Dad for their work with the signboards, and most of all to Haydn and Debbie for their kind hospitality and all their hard work.

Big thanks to David and Pauline Silk for providing this report and picturess.
